đŠ A Crow at My Window
What Called Me to Begin This Space
This morning, as I sat down to write, a crow landed on the tree branch outside my window.
Still. Watching.
It didnât caw. It didnât fly. It just held its place and observed.
And in that moment, I felt it.
A quiet message Iâve been circling around for years:
Keep going. What you're building matters.
Even when itâs not seen. Even when itâs not easy.
Especially then.
đ„Welcome to The Dojo Within
This space was born out of tension.
Between tradition and truth, between movement and stillness, between loyalty and self-leadership.
Iâve spent years inside martial arts circles.
Capoeira rodas. Karate dojos. Community performances.
And Iâve love it deeply. But Iâve also been hurt by it.
Iâve felt the conflict between being a âgood studentâ and being honest with myself.
Between showing up for community⊠and showing up for myself.
And so Iâve come to a new kind of practice.
One that happens just as much within as it does on the mat.
But always, this will be a place where showing up for yourself counts.
Even if no one sees it from the outside.
To Those on the Edge
If youâve ever felt conflicted about a teacher, a roda, a space that says âcommunityâ but doesnât feel like care. You are not alone.
If youâve ever wondered, âIs it okay to leave?â, âAm I betraying something?â, or âCan I practice on my terms?â This space is for you.
You Donât Have to Bow to Belong
Like the crow outside my window, this space doesnât need to shout.
It just needs to be still, present, & real.
Welcome to The Dojo Within.
Come in as you are.
Your presence here is already enough.

The crow within gives me confidence
