After class one day, a parent came up to me and asked:
āHow did you choose your martial art?ā
It caught me off guard for a second, I had to think.
Because the truth is⦠I didnāt just choose one.
So let me tell you how I chose mine.
As a kid, my parents signed me up for taekwondo because I was getting bullied in school.
Then we movedāand it was karate.
In college? More karate.
Later came kung fu.
Then I fell in love with capoeira.
And now? Iām learning boxing.
I didnāt follow a straight path. I followed what moved me.
Iāve always been drawn to the rhythm of movement itself, not just one style.
Itās the variety that keeps me coming back.
Each art gave me something different. And each met me at a different stage of life.
But itās the variety that keeps me coming back.
So Many Options ā¦Where Do You Start?
If youāre curious about martial arts, it can feel overwhelming at first.
There are so many styles. So many schools. So many opinions.
Ask yourself:
Are you looking to get in shape?
Learn self-defense?
Build discipline?
Do cool moves?

All of those reasons are valid.

What works for me might not work for you & thatās the beauty of it.
So, is martial arts worth it?
Without a doubt.
Itās one of the best things you can do for your whole self, body, mind, and spirit.

It transforms you from the inside out.
Martial arts helps you hold fear, frustration, & adrenaline without being overwhelmed.
